Avery 5160

Avery 5160 template, without Google Docs

A search for an Avery 5160 Google Docs template usually means you want each address on a label. Keep one address per row in a spreadsheet and download a PDF that already uses the 5160 grid.

There is no Docs add-on and no file to copy into Google Docs. Avery 5160 is already selected below. LabelCSV is not affiliated with Avery.

Your spreadsheet stays in this browser.

LabelCSV does not upload the file, and there is no Google permission prompt. Paste a publish-to-web CSV link, or open a file from this computer.

1. Add rows

2. Label text

3. Sheet and print

The usual 30-up address label. Three columns, ten rows, on US Letter.

Alignment

Nudge moves every label the same amount when the printer drifts. It is saved on this browser.

Free PDFs include one sheet and a small LabelCSV.com footer. See pricing

Sheet 1 of 1

30 labels

Avery 5160: label 2.625 in by 1 in, top 0.5 in, side 0.1875 in, column gap 0.125 in, row gap 0 in. The preview is scaled. Print the PDF at 100 percent.

The outlines are the label positions. Load rows to fill them.

What the 5160 PDF actually is

The page is US Letter, 8.5 by 11 in. Each label is 1 in by 2.625 in. Three columns, ten rows, 30 labels. Top margin 0.5 in. Side margin 0.1875 in. Gap between columns 0.125 in. No gap between rows. Those are the numbers in the Avery 5160 measurements. Avery 8160 and Avery 18160 use this same grid. Pick any of the three in the menu and you get that layout.

A Docs table follows the document margins, and the print dialog often scales the page. The label die does not scale with it. This PDF is a fixed letter page. The type is Helvetica, starting at 10 points, from 6 to 24. At 10 points a label holds five lines. A sixth line is cut, and the preview shows the cut. There is no bold and no script.

Steps, from a sheet instead of a Doc

  1. Put one address per row, with Name, Address, Address 2, City, State, and Zip. One row is one label.
  2. Paste the CSV, drop an Excel file, or publish a Google Sheet with File, Share, Publish to web, Comma-separated values. A private share link will not load.
  3. Leave "First row is column names" on. City, State, and ZIP print as one line. A blank Address 2 is dropped.
  4. Avery 5160 is already selected. Read the preview and download the PDF. A free PDF is 30 labels, with a small LabelCSV.com line in the bottom margin.
  5. Print at 100 percent. After you add a row, load the file again. This page does not write back to the spreadsheet.

For other header names, open the free-form template and click a column button. {Column name} inserts that cell. Empty lines are removed, and skip blank rows is on.

Column tips

Headers that map themselves: Name, Full Name, Recipient, Contact, Address, Address 1, Street, Address 2, Apt, Suite, City, State, Province, Zip, Zip Code, Postal Code. A single cell called "Full mailing address" will not split into street and city. Use separate columns.

Start at label uses the last half of a sheet. Count from the top left, left to right. Labels 1, 2, and 3 are the first row, so a peeled first row starts at 4. Only the first sheet uses that start. If Excel stored a ZIP as a number, fix 02139 before you load the file. The PDF prints the cell text.

Print alignment

Print labelcsv-5160-alignment.pdf on plain paper at 100 percent. Turn off fit-to-page and headers and footers, or some browsers scale the page to fit a URL. You should see 30 numbered boxes. If they all sit off the die together, set Nudge right or Nudge up, from -0.5 to 0.5 inches. A higher number moves the print that way. Print the test again. The nudge is saved in this browser. The test does not use a credit.

Questions

Where is the Google Docs file?

There is no Docs file. Keep the addresses in a spreadsheet, pick Avery 5160, and download a PDF. Nothing is written back to a Doc.

Do 8160 and 18160 need a different template?

No. Avery 8160 and Avery 18160 use the same 30-up grid as 5160. Pick 5160, 8160, or 18160 in the menu. The layout matches.

Why did the print sit above the labels?

The scale was probably not 100 percent, or headers and footers were left on. Reprint the alignment test at 100 percent, then nudge if the page is still shifted.

Can I type labels one by one?

Each spreadsheet row is one label. Paste a CSV, or load the sample list to see the grid. There are no empty boxes to type into.
