Which preset to pick

Avery 5163 is 2 in by 4 in, two columns, five rows, 10 labels. Top margin 0.5 in, side margin 0.15625 in, gap between the two columns 0.1875 in, no gap between rows. Default type is 12 point Helvetica, and about nine lines fit. 5263 and 8163 are the same layout. Pick 5163. LabelCSV is not affiliated with Avery.

Need more room for a shop line and a note? Avery 5164 is about 3.33 in by 4 in, two across and three down, 6 labels, default 14 points. 5264 and 8164 share that grid. These are letter-size sheets you stick on a box. They are not 4 by 6 thermal labels.

Clean the Etsy CSV first

Etsy order files are often one row per item, so a two-item order becomes two labels. Delete the extra rows, cancellations, and orders you already shipped. LabelCSV prints one label per remaining row. It has no duplicate check and it does not read an order status.

Etsy usually names the columns Ship Name, Ship Address1, Ship Address2, Ship City, Ship State, Ship Zipcode, and Ship Country. Those do not auto-map. The menus only guess headers such as Name, Address, City, State, and Zip. Rename them when every order is domestic. For mixed countries, use the free-form template so the country stays on its own line. The PDF prints the cell as stored.

The shop name is plain text, so it prints on every label. Blank Address2 and Country lines are removed. The token has to match the header, apart from capitalization. A tracking number prints as text and will not scan. There is no barcode, QR code, or logo.

Steps

1. Download the orders CSV from Etsy. Delete duplicate item rows and anything you are not shipping today.
2. Paste it, or drop the CSV. Excel works too. Leave "First row is column names" on.
3. Open the free-form template and insert the ship-to columns. Or rename the headers and use Address lines.
4. Choose Avery 5163. Read the preview. If a long street wraps and pushes the country off, lower the font. The range is 6 to 24 points.
5. Download the PDF. The file is named labelcsv-5163.pdf. A free PDF is one sheet, which is 10 labels, with a small LabelCSV.com line in the bottom margin. Print at 100 percent on US Letter.

Print alignment

Print the 5163 alignment test on plain paper at 100 percent, with fit-to-page and headers and footers off. You should see ten numbered boxes. If they sit too far left or too low, set Nudge right or Nudge up, from -0.5 to 0.5 inches. A higher number moves the print that way. The nudge is saved in this browser. A peeled top pair means Start at label 3, on the first sheet only.
